The setting used is a post-canon timeline, in which Yui had finished high school and currently studying law in college while taking some part-time jobs to cover her rent and necessities.
She still has her Persona and her powers, although she never really used it anymore unless it was necessary.
*Will probably use Canon timeline when interacting with people from Persona 4, unless stated otherwise.

Yui has a long, natural grey hair that reached her back, and bowl cut-shaped bangs that covers her eyebrows. It was originally straight and smooth, but ever since she kept her hair in braids, it became a little wavy when her braids are undone. She rarely let her hair down because she's already used to the twin braids, but there are times where she put her hair in a different styles.
She could be considered pretty tall for a Japanese girl her age, and sometimes she felt a little self-conscious about her height. Yui sometimes thinks that it would make it rather difficult to appear "cute", but it still doesn't stop her from wearing dresses that suits her somehow.
Narukami Yui is a rather quiet girl, sometimes only speak when needed to. Ever since moving to Inaba and made some new friends there, she had started to open up more, to talk more than before she moved in.
She has a caring attitude, often worrying about people she had just met, and obviously, her friends and family. Her friends often described her as the mother of their group.
She values friendship more than anything, even claiming that she feels weak if she's not with her friends.
Narukami Yui was born as an only child.
Ever since she was little, her parents are pretty busy with their work and more often than not, she had to tend herself. Since she had to cook for herself ever since she was little, she became pretty handy at cooking.
With her parents' work, Yui had to move around several cities a lot, and did not have many friends as she grows up. This made her become a rather quiet girl, and she does not make a lot of effort in trying to befriend someone in her new school because she knows that eventually, they'll forget about her as soon as she moved out.
High school year came, and for the first time, Yui's parents had to work abroad, and this time she can't follow them. This made her had to go to a small town named Inaba to live under her uncle's care.
Yui had thought that Inaba would be like everywhere else, in which she couldn't make much friends. But Inaba is a small rural town, in which almost everyone knows each other. During her stay in Inaba, strange kidnapping and murder cases started to happen. Ever since one of her classmates went missing, Yui and her friends became determined to find the truth about the strange case.
After the mystery is solved, Yui had to go back to her own town, yet unlike her previous 'friendships', the connection she made in Inaba stays. Even after she returns to her own city, her friends still texted her, and thus on breaks and long holidays, she made sure to visit Inaba, to her family and her friends.
